Edison Museum is located in the historic Travis Street Substation

downtown Beaumont, Texas, next to the Edison Plaza Office Building.

Travis Street came on line in 1929.

Something to crow over and brag about in the opinion of Harry Sharpless,

superintendent of production is the New Travis Street substation just

completed in Beaumont. To the layman looking for something gigantic and

magnificent in architecture it will seem disappointing, but to the

engineer interested in design and efficiency in substation

constructions, it is one the prettiest jobs ever done.
